Looking for a great way to unplug from screens and technology, spend time in nature, and have some fun with family and friends? Camping is one of the most popular outdoor activities for families to do together. There are many campground options from coast-to-coast but finding the perfect family-friendly campground with amenities and activities suitable for both adults and children can be slightly overwhelming. Don’t worry about the endless research because not only do we have the best RVs for sale, we also enjoy sharing knowledge on outdoor family adventures.   1. Thousand Trails Hershey RV & Camping Resort 
    In the heart of Dutch Country located on 200 acres of farmland this campground offers a mixture of solitude and excitement. Stay a while and enjoy the slow days, or pack up the family and travel a few miles down the road to visit the famous Hershey’s Chocolate World and the Indian Echo Caverns. The campground also hosts plenty of family activities; mini golf, volleyball, tennis and pickleball, the playground and gameroom, and they even have a library.
     
  2. Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park 
    A very popular place for families with children because the activities are endless! Equipped with a mini-golf course, a full water park including a pool, water slides, and a lazy river, playgrounds, as well as daily organized activities, you’re bound to find something here for everyone. Don’t forget to say hello to Yogi and his friends! Bring the motorhome, a tent, or stay in a cabin, whichever your camping heart desires can be found here. 
     
  3. Yellowstone National Park: 
    Considered the World’s First National Park, Yellowstone spans over two million acres through Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Known for its abundance of wildlife, plants, geothermal features such as Old Faithful geyser, and one of the largest petrified forests, a camping trip here will keep you busy for days. Bring hiking and fishing gear, binoculars to catch a glimpse of bears, bison, and elk, and get ready to enjoy all the wonders nature has to offer. With over 2,000 campsites, picking a campground within the park should be based on what you want to be closest to. For a short stay, check out West Yellowstone; for the full park experience check out Old Faithful for lodging; if you want more wildlife then the Northeast Entrance would be best. Or you could start at the North Entrance of Yellowstone because it has the most historic park information. 
     
  4. Cherry Hill Park
    This resort-style campground offers a full-service experience with an on-site cafe, golf cart rentals, campground shuttle, and the Cherry Hill Park Express Bus- taking travelers to and from Washington D.C.  Featuring 40-miles of off-road trails, fishing ponds, tractor rides, sightseeing sessions, a splash park, a dog park, summer movie nights, and much more, there is something for the entire family, even the furry members. 
     
  5. Little Bennett Campground 
    Surrounded by woods, this campground is a nature seeker’s dream. Find hiking and biking trails throughout the 3,700 acres of forests. Go fishing in one of the four lakes or rent a canoe to float your cares away.   6. Zion National Park 
    Come for the vivid colors and stay for everything else. Zion is located in Utah where it houses several geographic regions granting campers numerous ways to find adventure. From rock climbing to hiking to swimming in the Virgin River eventually leading to the Emerald Pools, families can enjoy a wide range of activities to spend their time. Known for its towering sandstone cliffs, natural rock arches, and narrow canyons, Zion is a place you don’t want to miss. Zion View RV campground offers panoramic views of the park. 
     
  7. Dutch Cousin Campground 
    Relax and unwind in the beauty of Amish Country. There is plenty to do for the whole family on-site, while offering exciting things to explore nearby. Go for an Amish Buggy Ride, enjoy a show with the Sight and Sound Theatre, take a thrill ride at the Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park, or smell some burning rubber at the Maple Grove Raceway. At the end of the day, hang out around the fire rings and have a tasty S’more. Check the campgrounds’ site for their activity schedule throughout the summer weekends. 
     
  8. Ricketts Glen State Park 
    Home to the Falls Trail which showcases 22 waterfalls along its path is a serene and beautiful way to spend your time outdoors. Take a swim and hang out on the beach of Lake Jean or go fishing. This area is an excellent choice for outdoor gazing with its natural wetlands, geological formations, and old forests. With many campsites, the campground within the park will keep you close to the natural Glens. 
     
  9. Joshua Tree National Park
    Where the high Mojave Desert meets the low Colorado Desert, this park of southeastern California is known for its unique landscape. The park houses many campgrounds, each different for different adventure styles. Here are two we like; Jumbo Rocks Campground is popular for its maze of granite boulders, an astronomy enthusiasts playground, and for those bringing any 4WD toy. Black Rock Campground is popular for families because of the slightly cooler weather, the  nature center, and panoramic views looking out over the San Andreas Fault. Joshua Tree National Park is a treasure with plenty to do for all ages, and is also located near Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. 
     
  10. Sun Outdoors Frontier Town 
    Welcome to the Wild Wild West… in Maryland! Enjoy this western themed camping experience with campsites available to fit RVs of all sizes, and you’re guaranteed to have the kids yelling “best vacation ever!” Relax down the lazy river, play around in the splash pad with mini geysers and water cannons, or soar down the high-speed water slides. Frontier Town is considered an all-ages resort and they are pet friendly!
